Tradition
The procession of the Lord of Miracles, also known as the Christ of Pachacamilla or the black Christ (Cristo Moreno) travels the streets of the city of Lima every year in the month of October, following a tradition that started in 1687. The Lord of Miracles brings blessings of unity, hope, catholic fervency and tradition.
Faith is capable of moving mountains; and in the month of October the image of Christ crucified moves millions of followers in an organized and passionate procesion. Many dedicated devotees dress with dark purple frocks attempting to emulate the Nazarenes Sisters; many of them wear small medals with the image of the Lord of Miracles as a symbol of adherence and devotion to Jesus. The perfume of incense sets a perfect atmosphere of spirituality.
From the birth of this religious tradition, the carriers of the stretcher that akes the Lord of Miracles around the city, have left their drops of sweat and the teardrops of sacrifice and emotion along the path of the procession. A faithful testimony of faith.

La procesión del Señor de los Milagros, el Cristo Morado, el Cristo de Pachacamilla, el Cristo Moreno o bajo cuanta denominación se le conoce, recorre las calles de la ciudad de Lima, Perú todos los años en el mes de Octubre desde 1687; trayendo consigo bendiciones de unión, esperanza, fervor católico y tradición.
La fe mueve montañas, y en el mes de Octubre, la imagen del Cristo crucificado mueve a millones de fieles en una procesión organizada. Muchos fervientes devotos visten hábitos morados tratando de emular a las hermanas nazarenas, muchos llevan consigo detentes como símbolo de adhesión y devoción al Señor. El aroma del incienso lo envuelve todo.
Desde los inicios de esta tradición religiosa, los cargadores de las andas que llevan al Cristo Crucificado han venido dejando con las gotas de sudor y las lágrimas de su sacrificio derramadas a lo largo de la procesión, un fiel testimonio de fe.
