The Aeronautic Museum of Perú
is an institution devoted to safeguarding, preserving and spreading
general and peruvian aeronautic historic heritage to the community.

The
museum is located in the Air Force Base of "Las Palmas" and
occupies the building that was for more than 50 years the headquarters
of the School for the Peruvian Air Force officers.
The visitor will see how Peruvians from
the beginning dreamed of how to fly like the birds. The visitor will
be able to participate with the ideas of flying from Leonardo de Vinci,
Santiago de Cardenas, Pedro Ruiz Gallo and other dreamers. In the rooms
of the museum the visitor will find models and scale representations
of the primitive machines used for flying endeavors. The visitor will
learn about the works of Pedro Paulet Mostajo, the Peruvian genius that
was acknowledged by Werner Von Braun as "The Father of the rocket
science in the world".
In the museum you will experience the heroic
deed of Jorge Chavez and will learn about pioneers like Bielovucic and
Tenaud. In the temporary exposition rooms you will appreciate the development
of the aeronautic technology in its different branches; you will see
the different airplane models, arms and different types of equipment
that have been part of the Peruvian Air Force during its history.
The walls of the museum enclose the vibrant
and faithful testimony of a rich aeronautic history, full of tradition,
adventure, heroic episodes and intrepid deeds.
